Rotwang’s Maschinemensch Washi On Maple

While the film is almost 100 years old, Metropolis remains a staggering achievement and a visual feast. And most staggering of all is one of the earliest robots in cinema, sometimes called Maria, but also known as the villainous Rotwang’s Maschinemensch. Created with black and patterned washi tape on maple board. While the tape for this piece is carefully chosen, it is applied differently each time, meaning every one of these is a unique hand-crafted work of art.

For display, Square Bear has created a stand that doubles as a wall-hanger that will hang on a nail using a keyhole mount. The stand is shimmed to allow flat hanging.

This piece is 4″ x 6″ and protected with a clear satin sealant.
